巻頭特集は、写真家・川島小鳥さんです。
また、遠藤文香さん、水島貴大さん、遠藤励さん、Yves Suterさん、GOTO AKIさん、服部恭平さんといった多彩な作家陣の作品を掲載し、各作家の口絵は12ページにわたり、それぞれの世界観に存分に浸っていただける内容となっております。
さらに、金川晋吾さんによる新連載「金川晋吾のあの人に会いたい」や、小島一郎・大辻清司両氏による1950〜1960年代の東京を写したモノクロームスナップなど、見どころも満載です。

雑誌『写真』は、今号よりコンセプトを新たにリニューアルします。
コロナ禍以降、世界は加速度的に変化しています。生成AI、メタバース、ドローン、SNSなど、技術の進化により、「誰もが忙しい」時代になったと言われています。人間の生活のあらゆる領域で写真は氾濫し、手元のスマートフォンのタイムラインから都市の大型デジタルサイネージまで、息もできないほど、過剰なイメージが眼前を駆け抜けていきます。
「写真」という言葉はもはや時代遅れなのか？ そんなことはないと思います。先達の意思と情熱を受け継いだ次なる写真家たちの新しい波がいま、次から次へと押し寄せています。雑誌『写真』も、これまでの殻を破って、新たなフェーズへ突入したいと思います。
今回のリニューアルでは、写真を単なる情報イメージとして消費するのではなく、その背後にある物語や文脈を掘り下げていきます。また毎号のテーマをなくして、よりビジュアル中心で親しみやすい誌面へとアップデートし、写真は写真として、読み物は読み物として楽しんでいただけるよう改善を重ねました。読者と写真家、執筆陣をつなぐイベントも増やし、写真をめぐる新たなプラットフォームを目指して進化し続けたいと思っています。
今後も「不易流行」の姿勢で、写真がもつ変わらぬ魅力を大切にしながらも、新しい表現や技術を柔軟に取り入れ、写真の可能性を広げていく。本誌はその姿勢を貫き、これからも読者の皆様とともに歩んでまいります。新生した『写真』が、皆様にとって新たな発見や喜びにつながることを願っています。ぜひご期待ください。

Sha Shin magazine, dedicated to promoting Japan’s photographic culture, is being renewed from this issue under a new concept.
The opening feature spotlights photographer Kotori Kawashima.
This edition also presents works by a diverse lineup of artists, including Ayaka Endo, Takahiro Mizushima, Tsutomu Endo, Yves Suter, GOTO AKI, and Kyohei Hattori. Each artist is featured in a 12-page photo portfolio, offering readers the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in their unique worlds.
In addition, the issue includes a new series by Shingo Kanagawa, as well as monochrome snapshots of Tokyo in the 1950s–1960s by Ichiro Kojima and Kiyoji Otsuji, making for an edition filled with highlights not to be missed.

Starting with this issue, Sha Shin magazine has a new design and an updated concept.
Since the end of the pandemic, the world has continued to change at a rapid pace.Various new technologies — generative AI, the metaverse, drones, new social media services, and so on — have ushered in an era where everyone seems to be busy all the time.An excess of images overwhelms us in every aspect of our daily lives, from massive digital billboards in urban spaces to the timelines on our smartphone apps.
Is photography losing its relevance in these new circumstances? I would disagree.New waves of photographers continue to emerge, carrying on the passion of their predecessors, breaking new ground and keeping the medium fresh and exciting. With this seventh issue, Sha Shin magazine is also undergoing a transformation to break free from its former shell.
In its new form, Sha Shin will focus more on the deeper stories and contexts behind the photographs, rather than simply consuming them as visual information.We will no longer limit each issue to a specific theme, allowing us to explore a wider range of photography from a broader perspective.The updated design puts more emphasis on the visual content, making it easier to enjoy both the photographs and the written content.In addition, we will host more events that connect our writers, photographers, and readers, and further develop Sha Shin as a new platform for photography.
We remain fascinated by the endless potential of photography and will continue to explore its ever-evolving forms with an open mind.We look forward to growing together with our readers and hope that the new Sha Shin magazine will bring you joy and new discoveries.
